Apply before October 15 — this deadline is firm.

Pros and Cons of UPESSC PRT Post

Advantages

  • Large vacancy pool — 12,405 posts means significantly better chances compared to smaller state recruitments
  • Stable government job with permanent service, NPS pension, and medical benefits
  • Entry-level salary Rs.35,400 plus DA and HRA gives in-hand salary of Rs.54,000–Rs.60,000/month
  • Exam-only selection — no interview bias; purely merit-based on written test
  • District-level posting means you can get posted closer to your home district (subject to availability)
  • Age limit 40 years with generous relaxations for SC/ST/OBC/PwD/Ex-Servicemen

Disadvantages

  • Negative marking (–1) — careless attempts will reduce your score; paper has to be attempted strategically
  • Urban posting only — these are urban-area school posts; rural candidates may prefer separate rural PRT drives
  • Normalization applies if multiple exam shifts are held — your raw score may be adjusted, which can surprise candidates expecting a straightforward rank
