Physical Standards — TSLPRB 2026
| Standard | Male (General) | Male (ST/Tribal Areas) | Female (General) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Height (SI Posts) | 167.6 cm | 160 cm | 157 cm |
| Height (Constable Posts) | 167.6 cm | 160 cm | 152.5 cm |

TSLPRB 2026 Selection Process — All Stages Explained
TSLPRB uses a rigorous multi-stage selection process to ensure only the most deserving candidates are recruited. The process differs slightly by post category. Here is the complete stage-wise breakdown:
Selection Process for SI Civil / RSI / SPF SI / Station Fire Officer / Deputy Jailor
- Preliminary Written Examination (PWT): Objective-type screening exam covering English, Reasoning, Arithmetic, and General Studies. Qualifying marks are 30% for OC/EWS and 25% for BC/SC/ST. Only those who clear PWT proceed to PMT/PET.
- Physical Measurement Test (PMT) & Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Height, chest, and weight are checked at PMT. PET includes 1,600m run (men) and 800m run (women), long jump, and shot put. RFID timing technology is used for accuracy. Both tests are qualifying/elimination stages.
- Final Written Examination (FWE): Four papers of 3 hours each — Paper I (English – qualifying), Paper II (Telugu/Urdu – qualifying), Paper III (General Studies), Paper IV (Reasoning & Arithmetic). Final merit is based on Paper III and Paper IV scores.
- Document Verification & Medical Examination: Original certificates are verified at this stage. Candidates found ineligible at any point are disqualified.

- Physical Measurement Test (PMT) / Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
- Trade Test (for Mechanic) / Driving Test (for Driver)

TSLPRB SI vs TSLPRB Police Constable 2026 — Which Post Is Better?
| Comparison Factor | Sub Inspector (SI) | Police Constable (PC) |
|---|---|---|
| Minimum Qualification | Bachelor’s Degree | SSC + ITI / Intermediate |
| Starting Salary (Basic Pay) | Rs.42,300/month | Rs.24,280/month |
| Maximum Salary | Rs.1,15,270/month | Rs.72,850/month |
| Age Limit (Upper) | 25 years | 22 years |
| Selection Stages | 4 Stages (PWT + PMT/PET + FWE + DV) | 3–4 Stages (PMT/PET + Trade/Drive Test + Written + DV) |
| Competition Level | Very High (Degree holders) | High (SSC/Diploma holders) |
| Career Growth | Inspector → DSP → SP (promotion track) | Head Constable → ASI → SI (promotion track) |
| Exam Difficulty | Higher (4 papers in FWE) | Moderate (Trade/driving skill + written) |
| Physical Standards | 167.6 cm height (male) | 167.6 cm height (male) |
| Best For | Graduates seeking leadership roles | SSC/ITI holders seeking stable government job |
If you hold a bachelor’s degree and meet the physical standards, applying for SI posts is the better long-term investment — the starting salary is 74% higher than Constable, and the career promotion track leads to DSP-level positions. However, if you have SSC + ITI certification and want faster entry into government service, PC Mechanic or PC Driver posts offer less competition and a clear pathway. For B.Tech/B.Sc. CS graduates, the ASI Fingerprint Bureau post at Rs.33,750–Rs.99,310/month is the best technical government career available in Telangana in 2026.
