Eligibility / Qualification

  • Consultant (GIS & Land Use Modeling): M.Tech in Remote Sensing/GIS/Geoinformatics/Environmental Science with 8 years research experience OR Ph.D in Geography/Remote Sensing/GIS/Agriculture Engineering with 4 years experience + degree/diploma in Remote Sensing/GIS. At least 5 publications in journals with NAAS rating >6. Candidates with 3-yr B.Sc + 2-yr M.Sc must have NET qualification.
  • Research Associate (RA): Ph.D in Agricultural Economics/Agricultural Extension OR M.Sc in Agricultural Economics/Agricultural Extension (4 or 5-year B.Sc, first division or 60%) with at least 3 years research experience and one SCI/NAAS (>4.0) journal publication.
  • Senior Research Fellow (SRF): M.Sc (Agronomy/Soil Science) with 4-year Bachelor’s Degree. NET is required for candidates with 3-year B.Sc, 2-year M.Sc + 2 years research experience as per ICAR guidelines.
  • Junior Research Fellow (JRF): M.Sc (minimum 65%) in Agriculture Extension/Agriculture Economics/Food and Nutrition or allied fields from a recognized university with valid ICAR/UGC/CSIR NET qualification.
  • Young Professional-II (YP-II): Post Graduate or Graduate in Agricultural/Horticultural/Life Sciences. For TTA Section: M.Sc Agronomy/Soil Science/Agriculture Extension with first division (CGPA >60%/6.0).
  • Young Professional-I (YP-I) – Social Media: Graduate with at least 60% marks in Computer Science/IT/Software Engineering/Telecom Technology.
  • Young Professional-I (YP-I) – Finance & Accounts: B.Com/BBA/BBS with minimum 60% marks from a recognized university/college with 1 year experience in relevant field.
  • Young Professional-I (YP-I) – Administration: Graduate with at least 60% marks. 1 year experience in office automation (MS Office, e-Office, e-HRMS).
  • Field Staff: H.Sc (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) with minimum 60% marks.

Selection Process

  1. Walk-in Interview – Candidates appear in person on the scheduled date with all original documents and a filled application proforma.
  2. Document Verification – All original certificates (degrees, mark sheets, publications, experience certificates) are verified at the venue.
  3. Practical Test (for Consultant GIS only) – Knowledge of GIS tools (ArcGIS, QGIS, Google Earth Engine, ENVI, ERDAS) will be tested with a practical exercise at the time of interview.
  4. Merit / Performance Assessment – Final selection is based on academic merit, research experience, publications (NAAS ratings), and interview performance.
  5. Director’s Decision is Final – No interim enquiries will be entertained. Canvassing in any form will disqualify the candidate.

  1. Visit the official ICAR-IIFSR website: https://iifsr.org.in and download the Application Proforma (Brief Resume format).
  2. Fill the proforma completely in Block Letters. Mention your WhatsApp number and active mobile number clearly.
  3. Attach self-attested photocopies of all certificates: Ph.D / M.Sc / B.Sc degree & marksheets, 12th & 10th marksheets, NET certificate (if applicable), experience certificate, research papers (with NAAS rating), and a recent passport-size photo.
