Eligibility & Minimum Educational Qualifications

General Cadre

  • Graduation (any discipline) with minimum 60% marks (50% for SC/ST/PwBD), OR
  • Post-Graduation (any discipline) with minimum 55% marks (pass marks for SC/ST/PwBD)
  • CGPA equivalence: 6.75/10 = 60%, 6.25/10 = 55%, 5.75/10 = 50%

DEPR Cadre (Economics)

  • MA/MSc in Economics or related fields — minimum 55% marks
  • OR MA/MSc in Finance or related fields — minimum 55% marks
  • Economics/Finance must be the principal constituent (≥50% of courses)
  • Desirable: Doctorate in Economics, research/teaching experience

DSIM Cadre (Statistics / Data Science)

  • Master’s Degree (55%) in Statistics, Mathematics, Quantitative Economics, Econometrics, Informatics, OR

Preparation Tips & Strategy for RBI Grade B 2026

Phase-I Strategy (General Cadre)

  • General Awareness: Read RBI Annual Report, Economic Survey, Union Budget summary. Follow RBI Bulletin and financial newspapers daily. Focus on monetary policy, repo rate, and banking sector updates.
  • English Language: Practice reading comprehension and error spotting. Read The Hindu or Business Standard editorials daily for vocabulary and analytical ability.
  • Quantitative Aptitude: Focus on Data Interpretation, simplification, percentage, ratio, and time-work. Solve at least 20 DI sets per week.
