Vacancy Details — E-Cadre & T-Cadre Breakdown for LSAT26

The 2,294 Assistant Teacher vacancies under LSAT26 are divided into two cadres — E-Cadre (795 posts) and T-Cadre (1,499 posts). Both cadres carry identical educational qualification requirements and fall in the same pay matrix level, but serve different posting structures within Chhattisgarh’s education system.

CadrePost NameVacanciesQualification Required
E-CadreAssistant Teacher (Primary)79512th with 50% + D.El.Ed / B.El.Ed / D.Ed (SE) + CG TET / CTET Paper-1
T-CadreAssistant Teacher (Primary)1,49912th with 50% + D.El.Ed / B.El.Ed / D.Ed (SE) + CG TET / CTET Paper-1

The T-Cadre accounts for approximately 65% of total seats. Reservation is applied district-wise, meaning candidates are competing within their own district pool — which significantly reduces effective competition for reserved category and female candidates. Exam Pattern & Marking Scheme — LSAT26 Written Exam 2026

The LSAT26 written exam is a single-paper, offline OMR-based examination of 100 objective questions carrying 100 marks, to be completed in 2 hours 15 minutes (10:00 AM to 12:15 PM). Negative marking of ¼ mark applies per wrong answer — unanswered questions attract no penalty.

Part AEnvironmental Studies (EVS)10
Part BChild Development & Pedagogy15

Total—100 Marks

Key strategy insight: With 100 questions in 135 minutes, the average time per question is 1.35 minutes. The ¼ negative marking means aggressive blind guessing is counter-productive — a candidate guessing 20 random questions will statistically score only 5 right and lose 3.75 marks, netting just +1.25 marks at the cost of time. The optimal strategy is to attempt 70–80 questions with high confidence and leave the rest unanswered.

CGSSB LSAT26 vs CTET Paper-1 — Key Differences Explained

Many candidates confuse the CGSSB LSAT26 written exam with the CTET qualification exam. They serve fundamentally different purposes — CTET is a teaching eligibility test (a prerequisite), while LSAT26 is the actual recruitment exam that selects candidates for government teacher posts.

🏆 Expert Verdict
For candidates with CG domicile who have already cleared CG TET or CTET, the CGSSB LSAT26 is the clearest path to a permanent teaching post in Chhattisgarh state schools. The salary structure (Level-6, approx. Rs. 35,000–45,000/month gross) combined with full government benefits and pension makes it significantly more stable than contract teaching positions. Do not skip this exam — the 2,294-post batch is one of the largest in recent state history.

Pros & Cons — CGSSB Assistant Teacher Job 2026

Here is a balanced assessment of the CGSSB Assistant Teacher position to help candidates make an informed decision about the post.

✅ Advantages

  • Permanent government employment — Class-III gazetted service with full job security and pension under the New Pension Scheme (NPS)
  • Competitive salary — Starting basic pay of Rs. 25,300 with gross salary of Rs. 35,000–45,000/month, growing with DA revisions and annual increments
  • Large vacancy batch — 2,294 posts is one of the largest single-cycle teacher recruitments in CG, improving selection odds compared to smaller drives
  • District-wise reservation matrix — Reserved category candidates compete within their district pool, reducing effective competition significantly
  • Government benefits package — Medical coverage, leave encashment, gratuity, maternity/paternity leave, and NPS pension
  • Work-life balance — School hours (typically 7:30 AM to 1:30 PM) with two months of annual summer vacation

⚠️ Disadvantages

  • Rural posting probability — Most vacancies are in rural or semi-urban Chhattisgarh districts, which may not suit candidates from metros
  • High competition — Expected applicant-to-vacancy ratio of 60:1 or higher for the Unreserved category pool
  • Pay Matrix Level-6 is mid-tier — Starting pay of Rs. 25,300 is lower than Level-7 or higher posts; salary growth depends on long-service increments
  • Tight exam window — Only 6 days between admit card release and exam date leaves limited time for last-minute preparation adjustments
